A female condom has a lot of advantages. Here is a Planned Parenthood link on Female Condoms.
“The female condom is a valuable option for women who want to prevent sexually transmitted infection or unintended pregnancy. It also has the advantage of not requiring a man to maintain an erection during use. The Female Condom is a soft, loose-fitting plastic pouch that lines the vagina. It has a soft ring at each end. The ring at the closed end is used to put the device inside the vagina and holds it in place. The other ring stays outside the vagina and partly covers the lip area or vulva as it is more technically termed. The Female Condom comes lubricated and is made from polyurethane which means that it is 40% stronger than latex condoms and it transfers heat readily. The Female Condom gives women the control they need and the security they want.Failure rate; The typical use of female condoms, which is the average way most people use them, has a failure rate of 21%. This means that 21 people out of every 100 will become pregnant during the first year of use. With perfect use, which is what should be the aim the percent drops dramatically to 5%.” From Blip.TV’s Sex Ed 102 with Kara Sutra
